Ghana’s Kingsley SARFO released from Prison in Sweden after 2 year jail sentence.

Ghana and Malmo FF winger Kingsley SARFO has had his two year jail sentence cut short for what prison authorities in Sweden describe as good behavior.

Ghanasoccernet.com reports the Ghanaian attacking winger was released earlier this week, and deported to his home country.

Sarfo had been in prison after he was charged with defilement in Sweden months earlier and all was taken into consideration for his early release.

On 30 September 2017 Sarfo was requested to be arrested following accusations of one case of attempted rape, and two cases of statutory rape.

As a result of the arrest, Sarfo was suspended from playing for Malmö FF, a suspension that was lifted on 11 January 2018 awaiting the legal process to be completed.

On 31 January 2018, Sarfo once again was arrested by the Swedish police, suspected of five cases of statutory rape.

On 8 June 2018, he was sentenced to 2 years and 8 months in prison, along with a fine of 150,000 SEK and deportation after having served his jail sentence.

The midfielder, who took Sweden by storm with his speed and great dribbling ability, is the second Ghanaian player to be jailed in the European country following the ordeal of Kwame Bonsu.

Bonsu returned home to play for giants Asante Kotoko just for one season before he was snapped up by Tunisian giants Esperance following his exploits in Confederation Cup
