Ex-Ghana goalkeeper, Abubakari Damba has said both Black Stars and Asante Kotoko should lay-off shot-stopper Razak Abalora for some time.
Abalora has been tagged as error-prone by local football enthusiasts.
The 24-year-old committed again on Tuesday where he miscalculated a floated ball which led to the only goal in Black Stars’ defeat to Morocco in Rabat.
According to Damba, Ghana and Asante Kotoko goalkeeper’s trainer, Najahu Issah Laskaya should not be blamed, instead setting aside Abalora might be the right option.
”Perhaps Abalora has a challenge of losing concentration momentally and he (Najahu) has worked on it and he is giving him opportunity.
“But if it is becoming too difficulty they need to set him aside and work on him as an individual and I tell you the game continues.
“It is Abalora who has to take up the matter himself. He has to bring himself out that ‘yes I accept every responsibility and I need to work at it.’
“So am saying that Black Stars should recuse him. Kotoko should recuse him.
“They should give him time off to work on these challenges and come back stronger.
“He has a problem let’s appreciate it and not aggravate the problem by putting more pressure on him. There is pressure on him so let’s help him out.” He said
Razak Abalora is currently with the Black Stars in Cape Coast as the team prepare ahead of a friendly against Ivory Coast on Saturday.
