The Government of Ghana has agreed to bare the cost of testing all players of the National U17 and U20 Female Football teams going into camping for their respective international competitions.
The Government’s Advisor on Health Dr Anthony Nsiah Asare confirmed this in an interview with Asempa FM’s Ultimate Sports Morning Show.
Testing of Footballers have been left in doubt as the Government had earlier exhibited signs it did not wan to pay insisting it is the duty of the Ghana FA to test their players.
“The Government will take care of the testing and all the health protocols of the Players whiles in camp, we will do that just as has been done to all Ghanaians” Dr Nsiah Asare to the Show.
This brings to conclusion the discussion on whose responsibility it is to test players of the National football teams.
Dr Nsiah Asare further maintained the Government will provide a team of medical experts to be with the team during their time of camping.
“The government will ensure the camping base of the teams are kept in a serene environment to ensure the girls are well catered for, the Government will dispatch a team to their camp to provide sick bay, and to also assign a district health response team to the team, we shall also work with the Health committee of the Ghana FA to ensure the players are safe during their stay in camp” he added.
