Legon Cities Football Club will be engaged in their second regional derby of the 2021-22 Ghana Premier League season when they welcome Great Olympycs at the Accra Sports Stadium on Saturday evening.
The two teams go into the fixture with identical records of a draw and a win in their opening two games of the campaign.
Legon Cities opened their season with a goalless draw against Hearts of Oak at the Accra Sports Stadium before beating Real Tamale United at the same venue last weekend.
Great Olympics on the other hand played out a 1-1 draw with RTU before recording an impressive 3-1 win over Accra Lions in their first regional derby of the season last weekend
The Dade boys were the best performing team in last season’s Accra Derbies and will be the target of all the capital teams this term.
They’ve again started the capital clashes with a dominant performance which they will look to build on later on Saturday.
For Great Olympics to achieve the feat of last season, however, they have to work even harder as the other clubs from the region have all improved their playing squads.
Legon Cities are proving to be a more competitive opposition than they were at the start of last season.
But their strength will certainly be tested by Great Olympics when the two teams come face-to-face with each other on Saturday in the nation’s capital.
