Ghana Premier League leaders Asante Kotoko will be hoping to open up the gap between themselves and the chasing pack, when they welcome Eleven Wonders at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in a Saturday night football fiesta.
The Porcupine Warriors have enjoyed a terrific start to the 2021-22 Campaign, picking maximum points in their opening three matches.
Asante Kotoko began their season in style, coming back from behind to thump Dreams FC 3-1 at the Accra Sports Stadium before rallying late to dispatch Bechem United 2-0 a week after at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium.
The Reds showed a different attitude on their last outing, holding on resiliently to record a slim 1-0 win over newly promoted Gold Stars in Bibiani.
That victory was over-shadowed by the brilliance of young attacking sensation Isaac Oppong who scored the only goal to ensure the Porcupines left the Dun’s Park unscathed.
The 18-year old is gradually settling in well and he is proving to be a key cog in Kotoko’s setup this season.
Meanwhile, Kotoko’s opponent this weekend, Eleven Wonders have not made an impression so far this season.
The Techiman based side have had a slow start to the new campaign with two draws and a defeat.
Wonders have not scored a single goal since the start of the season but haven’t conceded much either.
The only goal they’ve conceded came in their 1-0 defeat at Ashanti Gold on the opening day of the season.
That was followed by a back-to-back nil nil draws with Berekum Chelsea and Aduana Stars.
Coming up againt a Kotoko side that has scored six times in their previous three games, Wonders will be hoping to get their goal scoring boots on as the odds are againt them to keep a clean sheet.
