GPL WK1: Yahaya Mohamed, Ocran Lead Top Five Power Ranking

A dream perfect hat-trick for Aduana Stars FC talismanic forward saw him picking the first official match ball in a one sided 4-0 thrashing of Inter Allies FC at the Dormaa Park.

The veteran attacker leads top five performing stars for match day one that included Emmanuel Ocran and three other heroes.

Yahaya Mohammed (Aduana Stars FC, 10.0 Ratings)

An opening day hat-trick from the former Tema Youth utility man powered Aduana Stars into a resounding 4-0 flogging of Inter Allies FC at the Nana Agyemang Badu I Park. An opening goal from his left foot was followed by two other goals with the right foot and a header. He earns a rating of perfect 10.0 to open his campaign.

  • Emmanuel Ocran( Dreams FC, 9.0 ratings)

The former Wa All Stars FC attacker nearly tore the back of the net in their opening game at home to King Faisal with a belter. His two goals proved priceless for Winfred Dormon and his charges in the eventual 4-1 triumph. A new hair design probable meant a new Ocran with the striker virtually unplayable on the day.

  • Sabi Acquah(Goalkeeper, 8.8 ratings)

It is a norm in football that strikers win matches but defenders win trophies and this was manifested in the Karela United FC versus WAFA SC clash. The Pride and Passion could have ended the game with a resounding 5-0 thrashing of the Academy boys but for their young goalkeeper. Sabi stood on his feet and marred the party for the host with series of flying saves. He just shook off  John Moosie for the goalkeeping spot in the week.

  • Jeffery Degorl ( Legon Cities FC, 8.6 ratings)

The club skipper opened a new adventure with the Madina based side in a blistering debut at the Carl Reindorf Park. An all round performance on the pitch was capped with an emphatic finish in the dilly-dully game. Two late goals from the Whites pegged the game at 2-2 despite Sadik Sule’s cracker and Micheal Ampadu’s beauty.

  • Jonas Atuquaye( Berekum Chelsea FC, 8.5 ratings)

A game winning performance from the former KOANS FC attacker silenced the Accra Sports stadium in the opening round of matches in the season. Jonas Atuquaye added energy to his bag of tricks, flicks and glamour in a game he will not forget in a hurry. Berekum Chelsea FC won 0-1 on the road and it was through same player that earned the visitors three points at stake.

Notable mentions like John Moosie, Mubarick Yussif, Kwadwo Asamoah, Iddrisu Wahidu and Philip Osei all brightened the opening week of the competition.
