State broad casting giants GTV and its affiliate television stations have confirmed their readiness to screen the 2019/20 Ghana Premier league for their audience as the bidding war takes shape.
The government owned nationwide television broad casters joined six other television partners seeking to win the rights for the upcoming 2019/20 domestic season led by ESPN and Multi Choice.
A competitive bid from the Ghana FA saw GTV and other interested television partners bidding for the official rights as TV partners for the upcoming domestic season.
A statement from the Ghana FA confirmed receipt of several bids from interested television partners with the winner expected to be announced in the coming days.
GTV and GTV Sports+, through their official social media handles, confirmed their readiness to televise the game for the Ghana audience and beyond if given the nod ahead of the chasing pack.
“The GFA opened a bid for interested media houses to bid for the rights to broadcast the Ghana Premier league and other GFA matches.
GBC responded by putting in a bid to enable us bring the live Ghana Premier League games which is priority to us, to every home on free TV. We are yet to hear from the GFA so in the meantime, GTV Sports+ will continue with its regular programming.
We shall continue to strive to bring you all sporting events of national interest”, the statement reads.
