Vincent Odotei Sowah has denied that the club has abandoned Abdul Mamane Lawali after picking up an injury.
Hearts of Oak has been accused by the player’s agency- Heritage Football of refusing to finance the treatment of Lawali.
Reacting to the allegations, Mr Sowah said the injury required surgery which the club has issued an invoice to get it done.
“After initial treatment failed to cure him, he had an MRI which showed that he needs surgery. Two local hospitals were recommended so we got invoices from them.”
He added that the agent named Samuel Joel-Atolagbe wanted the player to be treated in Jordan. Which the club believes the estimate of the surgery presented by the agent is ‘unofficial’.
“However his agent came in to say he would want the surgery to be done in Jordan and gave a contact for us to ascertain the cost. The agent got back to us just this Monday evening with unofficial estimates, not on any letterhead.
“We are on meeting player now to let him know the way forward. It has delayed because of his agent not because of the club,” the Hearts of Oak board member has explained.
Lawali last featured for the Phobians ithat 6 – 1 victoryry over Bechem in January this year.
