The National Chapters Committee (NCC)- supporters wing of Accra Hearts of Oak have accused referees of having a malicious agenda againt the club.
The reigning Ghana Premier League champions have endured a torid start to the 2021-22 campaign and the NCC believes the misfortunes of the club is ochestrated by referees.
The Phobians are without a win after three matches, the last of which was a 1-1 draw against Aduana Stars at the Accra Sports Stadium last Sunday.
Hearts of Oak were leading 1-0 only for Aduana Stars to be awarded a last minute penalty to level matters through striker Bright Agyei.
Speaking on the club’s poor start to the season on Kumasi based Fox FM, Secretary of the NCC, Peter Mahama cautioned referees to be mindful of how they treat Hearts of Oak.
“The referees think they can misbehave in our matches because of the tight security offered them so they can misbehave and go scot free,” Mahama said.
“The penalty awarded Aduana Stars against us last Sunday was dubious. The game has moved so far to award such penalties.
“Is it a plan or a plot from somewhere to intimidate and prevent us from winning the league? Football is for fun, an entertainment and has a rule that governs it.
“The referee (Eso Doh Morrison) knows what is good for him but we are cautioning him and other referees against such predetermined mindset to intimidate us through dubious means being it home or away.
“Hearts of Oak is a club that is bigger and stronger than any club in Ghana and as supporters,we will not sit aloof for referees to officiate against us,” the NCC secretary added.
Hearts of Oak will next travel to Obuasi Len Clay Stadium to face Ashanti Gold SC on match week four of the Ghana Premier League.
