high-court-throws-olympics-injunction-application-gfaThe High Court in Accra has dismissed an interlocutory injunction application by Accra Great Olympics Club Limited against the Ghana Football Association.
Justice Anthony Yeboah in his ruling on Wednesday at the Human Rights Court 2 said third parties and other stakeholders of the league would suffer if the injunction is upheld.
He also maintained that Olympics could adequately be compensated if the league is allowed to progress.
Olympics wanted the court to place an injunction on the start of the 2017/2018 Ghana Premier League pending the determination of a protest involving two other clubs by the Ghana Football Association’s disciplinary committee.
The ruling means the GFA can now proceed with the 2017/18 league season while they resolve any impending protests by Olympics at their judicial bodies.
