‘I Deserve Some Respect’ – Black Queens coach Bashiru Hayford

Head coach of Ghana’s female senior national team the Black Queens, Bashiru Hayford has called on journalists to show him some respect for the depth of experience he has as a coach.
The tough-talking coach has come under huge criticism following his rant at the media for questioning his tactical acumen after Ghana lost 2-1 to Mali on Tuesday.
Bash, as he is popularly called, was not happy when a journalist asked whether he was tactically bankrupt, addressing the media with all the tough word he could grab, a conduct he has already apologized for.
But the former Ghana Premier League winning coach says he deserves some level of respect even though he can’t ask journalists not to do their jobs.
“I have been in coaching for 30 years, won several trophies and this is my 4th time of handling a national team and you tell me I’m EMPTY, naturally I will react but I’m sorry for that,” he said.
“We have all been annoyed before but we later see our mistakes and apologize.
“To say I’m bankrupt means I have nothing. So he means I have no knowledge of coaching,” he added.
Bashiru Hayford is noted for his rhetoric and tough responses to the media but his sober posture on Thursday morning may mean he’s a changed man.
