The tournament will be held in Ghana from November 17 to December 1, 2018 leaving a space of about just six months to commence.

As the first female coach of the Black Queens, Mercy Tagoe managed to chalk up some success at the just ended WAFU cup held at Ivory Coast by clinching the coveted WAFU women’s cup after pipping Ivory Coast in the finals. Her impressive performance at the WAFU women’s cup has made her resolute in winning thereby building a formidable team in order to also triumph at the AFCON 2108.

“I have never associated myself with the failures because I always want to be on top. This is the first time Ghana will be hosting the African women’s championship and so we need to make history and make our nation proud,” she noted.
