Rampant Asante Kotoko SC attacking jewel Abdul Fatawu Shafiu has called on Ghanaian players to stay disciplined and be professionals in their chosen field if they really want to attain the highest seat on African football.
The inspirational center forward has opened up on the indelible lessons learnt from Asante Kotoko’s immediate continental campaign, lauding the talent on the Ghanaian terrain.
With 5 goals in his last 3 matches in the GFA Special competition for the Porcupine Warriors, many have tipped Shafiu to blossom into a into one of the most complete attackers on the African continent.
Speaking on Atinka 104.7 FM, Abdul Fatawu highlighted the talent on the local scene but that lack of discipline and professionalism could be the main inhibitive factor.
“We have talents in Ghana league but what other African clubs are doing which is different from ours is that their players are very disciplined and professional”, Fatawu told Atinka FM.
He added, “during our campaign in the CAF Confederation cup, most of the teams we faced are well organized and we must replicate it in Ghana”.
Asante Kotoko SC raised hopes on the Ghanaian football realm during their 2018/19 CAF Confederation cup campaign but fluffed their lines in the most decisive game at home to Al Hilal Omdurman from Sudan.
