Injury Update: Ismail Abdul Ganiu Returns To Full Scale Training After Missing Al Hilal Clash, Set To Join Teammates For Decisive Trip To Zambia

 

CK Akunnor’s quest to seal qualifications into the knockout stages of the CAF confederation cup has been boosted with the return to fitness of star defensive pillar Ismail Abdul Ganiu ahead of the trip to Zambia for the clash with ZESCO United.

Ganiu missed the frustrating 1 – 1 damning score line at the Baba Yara Stadium against Al Hilal due to a discomfort in his groin but has resumed full scale training with his team mates ahead of Wednesday’s long trip to Zambia for the mammoth game against ZESCO United FC on Sunday March 17, 2019.

Asante Kotoko recorded a narrow 2 – 1 win over ZESCO United in the first leg staged at the Baba Yara and will seal qualifications into the knockout stages of the CAF confederation cup if they pick maximum points in the game.

Ismail Abdul Ganiu has featured in all the continental matches for Kotoko until his injury setback prior to the visit of Al Hilal SC.

The former Wa All Stars and Karela United centre back has won numerous fans across the country with defensive solidity and explicit passing skills from the back.

He is expected to zoom straight into the starting XI for the smash and grab game in Zambia.
