Ismail Abdul Ganiu Breaks SIX Year Old record In Asante Kotoko SC’s 2-0 Win Over Liberty Professional FC

Asante Kotoko SC’s lanky centre back Ismail Abdul Ganiu broke a six year old record in his side’s 2-0 win over Liberty Professionals FC at the Accra Sports stadium.
The former Wa All Stars FC and Karela United FC defender captained the Reds to a priceless win over the Scientific Soccer lads.
Two stunning goals from Kwame Poku powered the record Ghana premier league champions within three points of the table topping Bechem United FC.
With Emmanuel Gyamfi starting the game from the game from the bench, Ismail Abdul Ganiu captained Asante Kotoko SC for the first time in the league, a feat last achieved by Ahmed Adams from the northern belt.
Ahmed Adams was the last player to captain Asante Kotoko SC from the northern belt of Ghana during the 2014/15 GHPL season.
The solid leadership qualities displayed by Ganiu has already gotten some pundits of the game calling for the Wa-born defender to be given more leadership roles.
Ismail Abdul Ganiu was part of the Wa All Stars FC side that won the Ghana Premier League in 2016 with 27 appearances out of the 30 matches played that season.
He captained Wa All Stars FC U-20 side and the senior team during the absence of Hafiz Adams.
