Coach Karim Zito has admitted that the Black Satellites will need to dig deep to survive their Group C campaign at the 2021 U20 Afcon tournament.
Black Satellites coach, Karim Zito says he is aware of the daunting task at the 2021 Afcon in Mauritania.
The Black Satellites have been paired with Tanzania, Gambia and Morocco in Group C.
The 61-year-old in an interview with Happy Fm said he would be happy if the team is winning matches and scoring more goals.
“It’s a big challenge and we are hoping to also prove our worth in the competition. Morocco and Gambia are very good teams and it will be tough. It is a hard task, but we all know there are no easy games, especially with this group,” Zito added.
“I have told my players that If they are able to win the Cup they will be the next generation for Black Stars since there will be no World Cup this year”
The gaffer added that Ghana has a lot of talents but are currently lacking behind in the area of development.
“There are no minnows in World football now and we must be worried. Ghana has a lot of talents but we lack development”
“We are going all out to make Ghana and West Africa proud because we are representing the sub-region. Our target is the ultimate prize”
Karim Zito named a provisional squad of 24 players last week, but will prune the number down before the Black Satellites leave for the tournament.
The tournament kicks off from 14 February 2021.
