Kotoko Coach Prosper Narteh Elated with His Side’s “Fantastic” Win Over Rivals Ashgold

Head Coach of Ghana Premier League pace-setters Asante Kotoko SC, Prosper Narteh Ogum has described his side’s 3-1 Victory over regional rivals Ashanti Gold SC as “fantastic”.
The Porcupine Warriors produced a scintillating second half performance to dispatch their neibours 3-1 in a fiercely contested game at the Baba Yara Stadium in Kumasi on Sunday afternoon.
Cameroonian striker Frank Etouga Mbella scored his first hat-trick for the Reds as they made it four wins out of four in the Ghana Premier League.
And speaking to the media after the game, head coach Prosper Narteh Ogum expressed his delight at his side’s overall performance describing the the victory over their neighbours as “fantastic”.
“It was good. I think so far for the first time in Baba Yara [stadium] we were able to find our rhythm, we were able to circulate the ball very well, confidently and if you look at the chances that we created we could have scored more,” the former WAFA trainer said.
On the performance of his players, Narteh Ogum heaped praises on them for keeping their composure in front of their numerous fans for the first time this season.
“I’m happy that for the first time they were very calm on the ball, they were very calm without the ball and were able to exploit the spaces that we created. Ashgold is a big team which we all know and going up by 3 goals to 1 is fantastic. I’m happy for the boys”, he expressed.
The victory leaves Asante Kotoko on the summit of the league log with 26 points despite playing a game less than second place Aduana Stars who are trailing by 3 points.
