Asante Kotoko will be welcoming their sworn rivals Hearts of Oak in an outstanding matchweek 14 Ghana Premier League fixture at Accra Sports Stadium.

The Porcupine Warriors on paper look favourite and are highly motivated for the biggest fixture of the season as they are currently seventh on the league table with 23 points whilst the Phobians are lying on the sixth position with 23 points.

The Kumasi giants and Accra giants have a rivalry which dates back into time. The two teams have played 106 times in the Ghana Premier League, since it started in 1958.

The Rainbow boys are hoping to clinch the maximum three points on a high note after a brilliant performance against Ebusua Dwarfs.

Coach Nii Noi is yet to play his first-ever competitive game against Asante Kotoko since his appointment as the interim coach of Hearts of Oak.

On the other hands, Asante Kotoko are poised to continue their dominance over the 20-time Ghana Premier League champions with another emphatic win in their encounter on Sunday.

Newly-appointed head coach Abdul Gazale said in an interview ahead of the match that his boys are poised to beat Hearts of Oak on Sunday.

Patrick Asmah returned to full training earlier in the week after suffering an injury in a matchday 10 clash against Aduana Stars.

Kwame Opoku was set to serve his one game suspension if he had received a booking in the Bechem United game. However, that game was called off due to heavy rainfall so Opoku will be available for the Super Clash.

Mamane Lawali is currently suffering from anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) on his right knee and is unavailable for the game.

The same can be said for Abdul Nurudeen and Daniel Yeboah who have knee and ankle injuries respectively.
