Midfielder Abdul Latif Anabila capped off his impressive display for Asante Kotoko against Karela United with a Man of The Match Award at the Crossby Awuah Memorial Park on Sunday afternoon.
The 23-year-old was outstanding for his side on the afternoon helping them to break Karela United’s 66-match unbeaten record at home.
Ibrahim Imoro, a former Karela player, scored the opening goal in the 38th-minute after firing a low driven shot into the net for his second goal of the season before Kwame Opoku added the second in the 61st-minute.
Anabila, who has been under a lot from criticisms from fans and the media was excellent in the middle. He linked up well with the attackers and thwarted all efforts by the home team.
The award is the first for the Black Stars B midfielder who has had a mixed season so far for the Reds since joining from Ashantigold.
The win puts Kotoko on top of the league log with 23 points, a point above second-placed Karela United.
