Legon Cities Coach Goran Barjaktarevic bemoans injury crisis in camp

Legon Cities coach Goran Barjaktarevic is in an uncomfortable situation as he has expressed frustration with the tall injury list of his team.

Legon Cities lost at home to Medeama SC 2-0 at the Accra Sports Stadium and the Coach in his post man reaction stated that based on the injury situation his team did the best they could to play the way they did.

What can I say? We are not in the best situation with injured players.

Yesterday I wasn’t sure if he (Blay) can play or not because I had to change him in Berekum against Chelsea. He was injured and in serious pains. If I observe this situation and to compare how the team played then I can say we didn’t play bad. We let in the two goal and I don’t want to underestimate the performance of the opponents but we made two mistakes for the 1st and 2nd goals and in PL you will be punished fast if you make those mistakes.

2nd half we wanted to change things and started pressing high. We created what you can call half chances but we didnt scores do that’s the problem. When you don’t have the highest confidence as a player maybe for injuries, strange decisions on the pitch, atmosphere and some lapse when you play away like a safari.

Legon Cities will play away from home in their next league fixture but their Coach is uncertain if he has the players available to work with ahead of the game

“Next we will do everything possible….. but First I don’t know which players I have for the next game. I cannot tell you definitely now what is the plan. I cannot lie to you. When I see which players I have, we will do the best we can optimize the situation. What we can play, what we can do to analyze the opponents then we can go and do the best for the game.”

Coach Goran Barjaktarevic also lamented his teams inability to create chances in the final third but refused to single out any individual for the blame.

“Everybody who watches the game knows what is the problem. You can see that our final passes in the attacking third, in-front of the goal of the opponents, we make lots of mistakes. This is something that cannot help you to create chances. Why that happens I know too but I don’t want to search who is at fault because we are a team, we win as a team, loose as a team and that’s why I said we don’t create chances.
