Liverpool have officially opened negotiation with Bayern Munich for Thiago Alcantara.
The midfielder is already close to ending his contract at the German Club but the European Champions are willing to make some cash from him before his departure setting up a €30 million price tag on the 29-year-old.
Alcantara has just five months left on his Bayern deal but it looks like Liverpool cannot wait until the January transfer window as other suitors might jump in to sign the enterprising midfielder.
Liverpool have now agreed to meet Bayern’s demand of a €30 million with the player set to pen a four-year contract with the Reds.
The English Champions had initially indicated they would only sign the Spaniard should one of their midfielders leave.
As things stands, Georginio Wijnaldum who is already in his final year of his contract has been strongly linked to Barcelona as one of Ronald Koeman’s major target this summer.
Klopp has decided to settle on Alcantara who still got a lot of qualities despite hitting his prime.
A deal is expected to be announced in the coming days which will make the former Barcelona ace the second signing for the English giants after the acquisition of Kostas Tsimakas.
