Former Asante Kotoko and Black Meteors coach, Malik Jabir, is advising the Head Coach of the Black Stars, Charles Kwablan Akonnor to oppose influence from any member of the GFA which is against the ethics of the profession.
In an interview with Kumasi FM, the legendary attacker advised the head coach of Black Stars to act as a coach and avoid influence from the top hierarchies.
“When you are appointed as the coach, you must act like a one,” he said
“He must take players that he thinks can help his course and drop those who cannot help achieve his target,” he added
The former Asante Kotoko and Ghana legend encouraged the former Wolfsburg skipper to be firm on his decision and not to dance to the tune of the Football Association simply because they hired.
“If the Football Association (GFA) wants to sack him for being firm on his decisions than so be it.”
Coach Malik further revealed that he was once attempted with bribe from a management member during his stint as the Head Coach of the National U-23 side, Black Meteors.
“I recall during my time as the Head Coach of the Black Meteors, a management member at that time brought in three players and offered me $3000 for me to take them into the team but I rejected the money and asked for an assessment of those players.”
“I remember after the assessment, the players were not fit enough for team and therefore were dropped.C K AKONNOR must be strong mentally and act as a coach to avoid influence from other people in order to achieve his goal.” He concluded
