CAF CC Match Previews: Zamalek Close In on Qualification

th 3 - CAF CC Match Previews: Zamalek Close In on Qualification

MAKURA VICTORY SPORTS (RWA) VS AL-HILAL OMDURMAN (SUD)

(1ST  LEG RESULTS 0:3)

Makura Victory Sports after proving they are a strong defensive side by keeping four clean sheets in their last five games messed it up by conceding three goals against AL-Hilal in the first leg encounter.

Notwithstanding that they are yet to lose at home in both NFL and Confederation Cup and only conceded a goal in its last five games. Coming up against a team that has lost once in its last five away matches, we expect to see goals in this match. Al-Hilal are sure to proceed to the group stage of the tournament

PETRO ATLECTICO (ANG) VS STADE MALIEN (MALI)

(1ST  LEG RESULTS 1:1)

Petro Atletico are yet to lose a single home match  in the qualifying round of the Confederation Cup and have managed to score  5 goals on home soil. With Stade Malien struggling to win on its home grounds in the first leg as against its record of just a single win in its last three away games in the competition. With such a poor away performance as against a strong opposition this time round expect Petro Atletico to come out victors

SALITAS (BFA) VS AL NASR (LBY)

(1ST  LEG RESULTS 0:1)

Al Nasr so far have recorded the most shocking results prior to dropping into this competition. After winning 3-0 at home to Horoya in the first leg, AL Nasr slipped 6-2 in the second leg of the last round of the Champions League .

Before Horoya ,Al Nasr had won all their away games in this competition. They look like a free scoring team with a total of 15 goals scored but with a disappointing defense conceding 9 goals in the process. Salitas are yet to lose a home match but expect the free scoring Al Nasr to come out with smiles

HUSSEIN DEY (ALG) VS AL AHLY BENGHAZI (LBY)

(1ST  LEG RESULTS 0:1)

Tactical Hussein Dey have managed to see off all its opponents in a strategic manner with vital wins in its home matches. They seem not to lack results when needed most but the question remains if they will be capable to do same against a side that is yet to win an away game. Their last outing saw them concede four brilliant goals against a strong Memelodi Sundowns. Tough match but Hussein Dey will sail through

ZAMALEK (EGY) VS IR TANGER (MAR)

(1ST  LEG RESULTS 0:0)

Zamalek FC are a household name and must prove its credentials against a determined IR Tanger. IR Tanger is yet to win a single away game in this competition but have to vomit blood to overtake a favorite that shipped in 7 goals the last time a team visited its home grounds. What will happen is written in the stars but expect Zamalek to make a huge statement again.

BERKANE (MAR) VS JARAAF (SENG)

(1ST  LEG RESULTS 0:2)

Berkane is yet to lose a home match since May 2018 and also yet to lose any confederation home match since March 2018 scoring 12 goals in the process. Jaraaf are yet to win any away game in this year’s competition. The last time in two years they won an away match was against Casa by 3:1. My bet is on Berkane to see off Jaraaf

KAIZER CHIEFS (RSA) VS ZESCO(ZAM)

(1ST  LEG RESULTS 1:3)

Chiefs have scored 7 goals in the last two home matches in the Confederation and will need to score more of such to overturn a 3:1 score line. Zesco only managed 2:1 win over SONIDEP in their first away game in the Champions league, but with an opposition that has scored an average of 3.5 goals in the last two home matches, Kaizer might look too strong to be stopped by Zesco. Zesco needs to be on top of their game to come out with a meaningful result

HOSSANIA AGADIR (MAR) VS JIMMA ABA JIFAR (ETH)

1ST LEG RESULTS 1:0

Hossania Agadir made their first away win in this competition by beating Jimma Aba Jifar and Hossania needs to make it count by finishing off the game with a win. Hossania have managed to keep clean sheets in all matches in this year’s competition and expect to do same in this encounter. Jimma Aba Jifar managed an away win in the champions league qualifying round against ASAS but not sure they can do same against a north African side that have scored six home goals and yet to concede
