Match Report: Asante Kotoko 2-0 Ebusua Dwarfs, Porcupine Warriors labour to beat crabs in a deserted Babayara stadium

Asante Kotoko scored two late goals against Ebusua Dwarfs to appease the quiet babayara stadium which had been deserted due to an FA ban on fans attendance to win for the first time in three matches

Kotko began the game on a much more spirited note despite having their fans watching the game from their homes.

It was Naby Keita who began to press to ge the opener for the porcupine warriors with his 10th minute curl that hit the crossbar.

Kotoko who have not won any of their last two games pushed to get an early goal to destabilize their opponents but Goalkeeper Issah Razak stood his grounds in the early minutes to prevent any havoc, however, the attack of Asante Kotoko headed by Songne Yacouba kept pressing with support from the flanks with Christopher Nettey doing most of the runs.

In the 15th minute when Ebusua Dwarfs thought they had calmed the storm, Christopher Nettey made a run into the penalty area, where he was brought down for Penalty, Songne Yacouba stepped up but missed his kick to Goalkeeper Razak Issah.

Kotoko kept pressing for their opponents and came close again in the 20th minute when a Christopher Nettey cross was headed straight into the goalkeeper’s hands.

Ebusua Dwarfs, having weathered the storm, picked up their game, and made some attacks, and in the 39th minute came close to scoring, but Goalkeeper Kwame Baah was in hand the save the Fabulous boys.

Both teams held onto their defence to prevent any havoc to end the first Half goalless.

Boack in second Half and Ebusua dwarfs will attack first, Ato Hammod, who had been quict the entire first half latched onto a loose ball, but his shot was superbly saved by Kwame Baah in post.

Ebusua Dwarfs kept the pressure on Kotoko, with Albert Hammond coming close to score again in the 71st minute, but yet denied by Kwame Baah.

Kwame Baah was gradually becoming the hero of the day as he saved Kotoko again in the 79h minute when he save Moro Sumaila’s shot.

By the 80th minute, Asante Kotoko had regained their consciousness with substitute Ricjard Arthur,

Kwame Baah Augustine Okrah, and Mathew Cudjoe putting up some spirited play.

Then came the defining moment in the 83′ when Mathew Cudjoe fed on Justice Blay’s header and made yard for himself before hitting the ball into the right bottom corner for the opener .

After the goal, Asante Kotoko gained more confidence with Richard Arthur working the defence of Dwarfs with his power, in the 86th minute, he fed on goalkeeper Issa Razak’s rebound from Naby Keita’s shot to hit into the net to put the game beyond the reach of Dwarfs.
