Asante Kotoko started their preparations to the CAF champions league with a late Kelvin Andoh Goal to beat Burkinabe side Rahimo FC
The match, which was Asante Kotoko’s first pre season encounter before they embark on the CAF Champions league preliminary match against Nigerian Giants Kano Pillars saw both sides exchanging some good football to the admiration of the Fabulous fans.
Rahimo FC opened the scores in the 41st minute to the surprise of the home side who had dominated play through the game.
The away side held on to the lead to end the first half in a flying note.
Asante Kotoko coach Kjetil Zakariassion returned to the second half with seven changes to his side that started the game, his changes made positive impact on the Kotoko side who piled lots of pressure on their opponent.
In the 73rd minute Rahimo FC defence who had come under intense pressure conceded a corner kick which was taken by Augustine SEFA, and headed home by Martin Antwi who was introduced into the game in the second half.
After the goal, Asante Kotoko kept the pressure on their opponents, who made lots of errors at the back.
Just when the game seemed to end in a 1-1 draw, Augustine SEFA produced a well taken corner kick which met the head of winger Kelvin Mathew Andoh to give the home side the need win.
Asante Kotoko is preparing for the preliminary stage match in the CAF Champions league against Nigeria’s Kano Pillars in August.
