Asante Kotoko fought back to share spoils with Liberty Professionals at the Red Bull Arena in Sogakope on Sunday.
Evans Owusu’s first half strike was cancelled out by Ismail Ganiu as Liberty and Kotoko settle for a one all draw on matchday 25 of the Ghana Premier league.
Liberty almost opened the scoring on 13th minute but Amadu Adamu’s shot went side netting.
With almost hitting the half hour mark, the home side came close again but this time Maxwell Ansah’s effort was feeble to cause harm to goalkeeper, Razak Abalora.
Liberty, eventually got the lead through former Porcupine, Evans Owusu whose long range effort found its way into the net after Abalora fumbled to have a firm grip on the ball.
Kotoko in response almost pulled parity as Mudasiru Salifu’s shot from the edge of the box was tipped by the goalkeeper for corner kick.
Hence, the first half ended with the Reds tailing.
Asante Kotoko dominated the early stages of the second half but could not creat openings in the Liberty backline.
The home side on the other hand showed incursions of extending their led including Christopher Nettey’s goal line clearance to prevent Liberty from making it two.
Kotoko had to wait until the 83 minute where Abdul Ismael headed in the equaliser from a perfect ball from Imoro Ibrahim’s freekick.
