Match Report: Ebusua Dwarfs 0-1 Medeama SC –Agyenim Boateng’s lone goal enough to silence The Crabs’

Medeama SC earned a well deserved 1-0 win over Ebusua Dwarfs to put their hopes right under control with a composed finish from Agyenim Boateng at the Cape Coast stadium.
Ebusua Dwarfs hosted Medeama in the match week 5 clash on Saturday at Cape Coast stadium.
Prior to the game, Medeama SC had endured an average start to the campaign and needed a win to boost their title pursuit.
Head Coach Ernest Thompson Quartey changed just one player from the previous lineup that won against Chelsea. Ebusua Dwarfs on the other hand were looking to make it two wins out of two against Medeama.
Simon Martey replaced Prince Kpodo in the starting eleven for Dwarfs while Medeama Head Coach James Boadu also made some changes to his starting eleven.
The visitors saw their never ending pressure met by an inspired defensive unit and top class goalkeeping to keep the scores at 0-0 heading into recess.
With the chance to leave the relegation zone, Medeama SC heaped more men forward and when Agyenim Boateng kissed the back of the twine with his composed strike, the Miners had no answer to the jigsaw puzzle tabled before them.
A blistering turn of pace down the flanks saw Dwarfs seeking for redemption at the back, allowing the Mauve and Yellows to take a deserved lead with 19 minutes to play to the end of 2nd half.
It proved to be the decider with both teams failing to convert the numerous chances created.
The win gives Medeama a lift on the league log with a point tally of 5 from their first 4 games. The Mauves and Yellows move to 9th on the league standings while Dwarfs who have 4 points drop to 12th.
