Match Report: Finland 1-3 Ghana – Mukarama scores again as Ghana maintain Group A lead

The Black Maidens of Ghana maintained their lead in top of Group A with 3-1 win over Finland in the ongoing FIFA U17 Women’s World Cup in Uruguay.

Skipper Mukarama Abdulai was on target again to take her scoring run to 16 goals in 6 games for the Black Maidens.

She has since taken her tally to 4 in the tournament in two games.

Millot Abena Pokuaa opened the scoring for Ghana under six minutes after tapping home a beautiful cross to put Ghana in front.

Mukarama grabbed her 4th goal of the tournament 6 minutes after Pokuaa’s goal to give Ghana a 2-0 lead.

Finland fruitlessly fought for a goal but could not break the Ghanaian defence until the break.

The Finnish returned more charged with Kantanen reducing the tally by a goal on the 75th minute.

Grace Animah’ beautiful free kick went straight into the hands of the Finland goalkeeper to maintain Ghana’s 2-goal lead with 4 minutes to end proceedings.

Ghana are on top of Group A with 6 points and a goal difference of plus 6.

Ghana will take on New Zealand in the last group game of the competition.
