Accra Hearts of Oak Sc ended their recent winless run in the series of friendly matches with a last gasp winner over lower tier side Mobile Phone Peoples FC.
The trouble capital based side had Daniel Kodie to thank for the dramatic winner in the friendly game that looked destined for another disappointing drawn game.
Interim manager for Accra Hearts of Oak SC, Seth Hoffman, named a very strong line up for the clash with the third tier side with Ernest Sowah entrusted with the goal keeping duties whiles Christopher Bonney, Robert Addo, Sellasi Bakai, Joseph Esso and Williams Denkyi all named in the starting XI.
An expected dominance over the lower tier side manifested in the opening minutes with some collective teamwork displayed across the pitch.
The profligate and wasteful shooting however handed Mobile Phone Peoples FC a way into the game at the Pobiman Park.
A promising first 45 minutes failed to separate the two teams despite the superiority shown by Hearts of Oak with the visitors growing in confidence every passing minute.
Second half substitute, Daniel Kodie, however rescued Seth Hoffman’s charges from another embarrassing stalemate with a dramatic winner deep into injury time with the game destined to end 0-0.
A composed finish from the new arrival denied the lower tier side a well deserved 0-0 score line against the 20 times Ghana premier league champions.
Accra Hearts of Oak Sc had previously panned out 1-1 disappointing game against All Blacks, settled for a 1-1 score line against Elmina Sharks, saw their 1-0 lead against Uncle T United rained off and lost back to back at the hands of Asante Kotoko SC.
