Youngster Mathew Anim Cudjoe scored his first ever Ghana Premier league goal to give Legon Cities their third win of the season, overcoming City rivals Inter Allies in Accra.
Not too entertaining afternoon as both sides sort to claim the maximum points following their poor start to the league, however, it was Legon Cities who showed intention of getting the opener wirh Nasiru Moro’s early minute drive going off target.
Inter Allies did not do any thing different to ensurw they kept their opponents, who were playing without a known striker, with Baba mahama leading their attack.
With no time to waste, Legon Cities opened the scoring in the 14th minute when Mathew Anim Cudjoe scored from a goal mouth melee, following a Baba Mahama blocked Shot.
Allies came close on two occasions to get the equalizer, but Nafiu Sulemana failed to connect a Kingsley Braye long drive through the face of goal.
The game became a midfield battle , but Cities looked superior with Jonah Attuquaye, Nasiru Moro and Francis Addo combining to prevent Desmond Abuga from surging forward to supply his attackers.
The secod part of the game become more physical as both sides struggled it out to ensure victory came to them.
Allies ended the game with 10 men after defender hashmin Musah was given the marching off orders by referee Selorm Bless for a foul on Jonah Attuquaye.
Inter Allies despite their numerical disadvantage, pressed on for the equalizer, but were prevented by a much more resolute Legon Cities defence to give the Royals their Second consecutive win of the season.
