Dansoman based Liberty Professionals took only 25 minutes to satisfy all the efforts in traveling to the Harbor City when George Ansong, and Francis Owusu’s two quick goals unsettled struggling Inter Allies in the match day 12 of the GFA Special Competition.
Liberty Professionals, who went into the game with a 3-1 win over Elmina Sharks over the weekend were without defender Micheal Ampadu who is nursing an injury.
Both sides started the game very well, and created numerous goal scoring opportunities, but failed to score, but Liberty were the first to draw blood when George Ansong opened the scoring, his close range finish was after Inter Allies had failed to clear Elvis Kyei Baffour’s freekick.
The goal unsettled Inter Allies who opened up their defence in anticipation to equalize, but before they could get their feet on the ground, Liberty had added the second goal
Francis Owusu connected a corner kick from Frederick Ansah after the defenders of Inter Allies failed to clear their lines in the 25th minute.
Allies raised their game in the second half, but it looked too small, too little, as coach Reginald Asante stood his ground to ensure his boys held on to the lead to win the game 2-0
