MATCH REPORT: Kotoko 3-1 SAC – Porcupine Warriors back to winning ways after Black Stars defeat

Kumasi Asante Kotoko registered a 3-1 win over Save African Child FC of Burkina Faso at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium on Sunday in an international club friendly encounter.

The Porcupine Warriors made a swift return to their winning ways after falling to Ghana’s senior national team the Black Stars by 3-0 on Friday.

Goals from Agyemang Badu, Frederick Boateng and Kwame Bonsu gave the Porcupine Warriors the face saving win over their visiting West African counterparts.

The Burkinabe side took an early lead under 3 minutes when Austin Uzo capitalised on a defensive blunder by Emmanuel Owusu to break the deadlock.

But Kotoko fought back to clinch a 3-1 win over the Burkinabe side 20th ease.

An 18th minute thunderous drive from Agyemang Badu took a wicked deflection off Tapsoba Mohammed to restore parity.

Frederick Boateng shot Kotoko into the lead 8 minutes later after Ausgutine Sefa beautifully set him up.

Sylla Mohammed scored what could be described a perfect goal but was ruled offside.

Substitute Kwame Bonsu’ powerful shot took another deflection into the net to hand Kotoko the handsome win.

The win becomes CK Akunnor’s first win as head coach of the side.
