Title favorites Medeama SC went another game without a win after they were held by coachless Legon Cities in the week 2 of the Ghana Premier league match played at the Accra Sports Stadium
Coachless Legon Cities started the game playing with more men behind the ball, allowing Medeama to attack with goal threatening attempts.
Despite their defensive posture, the Royals maintained a decent back line with Joseph Adjei, Michael Ampadu, and the Midfield combination of Elvis Opoku and David Cudjoe offering lots of support at the back.
Stand in coach Wahid Mohammed issued several instructions on the touchline to ensure his side kept a decent clean sheet.
Medeama who are winless in the league pushed more men upfront with Agyenim Boateng, Ebenezer Ackhabi, and Eric Kwakwa threatening to get the opener within the first 20 minutes.
Ackhabi was the first to attempt a goal when his shot flew past the goal line with Fatau Dauda clearly beaten.
Inspite of their defensive nature, Legon Cities came close to scoring on two occasions but Raphael Ocloo wasted both opportunities.
Coach Wahid was forced to make a substitution after David Cudjoe went out injured, in his stead, Cephas Doku came into the game to offer further support in attack.
In the second half, Coach Samuel Boadu, who hasn’t seen any victory sinfe the league began introduced two more attackers to find the back of the net, Enterprising Kwadwo Asamoah, and Ivorian Kalibo Tousanit came in to add bite to the side, but Medeama who have scored only 1 goal in three matches wasted all the opportunities that came their way.
