Hearts of Oak put one past regional rivals Liberty Professionals to claim back to back win for the first time since January 2021.

Substitute Isaac Mensah made the difference with his late goal at the Carl Randolph Park on matchday 15. His second match-winner in three days.

The beauty of the game was hugely affected by the poor condition of the pitch with both teams resorting to long balls.

However, the Rainbow boys managed to create something for themselves as the biggest as Patrick Razak square a corner to Fredrick Ansah Botchway whose inside foot shot went over the bar.

The away side started the second period on a positive note showing the incursion of grabbing the opener.

Hearts of Oak came close to breaking the deadlock through Raddy Ovouka whose powerful drive struck the crossbar on the 68 munites.

Eventually, they got the deserved lead 8 minutes later with Issac Mensah scoring from close range 6 minutes after replacing Kojo Obeng Junior.

Hearts held on to the narrow lead as they secure all three points in two consecutive games under interim manager, Samuel Nii Noi.

The Phobians have climed further up the table, 6th, following the win and a looking good ahead of supper clash with Asante Kotoko on Sunday.
