Head coach of Asante Kotoko SC Maxwell Kwabena Konadu has succeeded in creating different midfield combinations for his team ahead of the 2021 football season.
The Ghanaian tactician added Emmanuel SarKodie to his side and will be welcoming long term absentee, Richard Senanu, when football resumes.
The sudden rise to stardom of Mudasiru Salifu and the possible arrival of Latif Anabila and Emanuel Keyekeh raised competition in the team ahead of the return of domestic football.
442gh.com takes a look at the midfield options for Maxwell Konadu if he gets all his transfer targets.
Option One :
Senanu Vrs Salifu Vrs Sarkodie
When Richard Senanu played for Asante Kotoko SC in the 2018 CAF confederation cup, the Porcupine family knew they had gotten another Stephen Oduro and Jordan Opoku in one player. Such was his class before the unfortunate injury took over. Now on the verge of returning to the pitch, he appears like a new comer and will be welcomed with open arms.
His combination with Salifu Mudasiru and Emmanuel Sarkodie appears the first option for Maxwell Konadu when football resumes. Sarkodie made light work of players in the national division one league playing for Nkoranza Warriors. The much sort after anchor will have to tick the boxes when paired with Mudasiru in advance role.
Latif Anabila, Collins Ameyaw and Emmanuel Sarkodie
This is the second midfield combination subjected to the arrival of Anabila. The Ashgold ball user is currently closing in on a three deal from Asante Kotoko SC and will surely add to the squad. The versatility of Anabila and Sarkodie in particular, could allow Maxwell Konadu to play 4-2-1-3 with Sarkodie leading the advance role behind Collins and Latif. This will provide strength at the back and lubricate the centre of the pitch with some spectacular moves.
Once Latif joins, Konadu can equally deploy Sarkodie in a deep lying role to make way for more attacking players on the pitch.
Asante KotoKo SC and Ashgold SC will represent Ghana at the 2021 CAF inter club championship.
