MP Calls for Complete Dissolution of Black Stars for Re-building

Patrick Yaw Boamah, The Member of Parliament(MP) for the Okaikwei Central constituency of the Greater Accra Region, says Ghana should forfeit the upcoming World Cup qualifying playoff against rivals Nigeria.
The Black Stars have been drawn against West African rivals Nigeria for the final phase of the 2022 FIFA World Cup Qualifiers slated for March 24 and 29 with the winner earning a ticket to the global showpiece in Qatar.
According to the Okaikwei Central MP, the team do not have the quality to navigate the two legged encounter and must rather focus on re-building for long-term success.
“If need be we should dissolve our national team and prepare a team over the next five years,” Patrick Boamah said on the floor of Parliamrnt on Wednesday.
“We should not waste our time playing Nigeria in the next World Cup qualifier.
“Look at the team Nigeria has, even though they are out of the tournament I don’t think with this current set up we can stand the Nigerians,” the legislator added.
Ghana’s Black Stars exited the ongoing 2021 Africa Cup of Nations in Cameroon after finishing bottom of Group C and without winning a single match.
The disappointing campaign has already led to the dismissal of head coach Milovan Rajevac and the dissolution of the team’s management Committee.
