Organizing committee for the 2020 annual MTN FA Cup has released a road map for this year’s edition with 110 football clubs across the country set to thrill fans in the cup championship.
The committee confirmed January 24, 2020 as the kickoffs across the lower tiers whiles July 26, 2020 has been proposed as the date for the epic grand finale.
This initial proposal, set to last for 184 days, will witness clubs from the third, second tier and topflight battling it out for the traditional bragging rights.
44 division II clubs will usher in the cup championship from January 24, 2020 before the second tier and topflight clubs join in the latter stages.
An epic live draw will be staged to pair the teams at zonal level before the bigwigs join in the next round.
The expected draw will give clubs a minimum of 10 days to prepare for the season openers.
Asante Kotoko SC are the defending champions of the traditional cup after that thumping triumph over Accra Hearts of Oak SC at the Tamale Sports stadium back in 2017.
