MTN FA CUP: Late Goals Send Young Apostles FC Into Last 16 At The Expense Of Brave Jinjini Eagle Soccer Academy

 

Young Apostles FC kept their nerves to book a last 16 berth in the 2021/22 MTN FA Cup with a dramatic 2-0 win over the high flying Jinjini Eagles Soccer Academy.

Two dramatic goals in the last 5 minutes of the elimination clash powered the Apostles into the last 16 after a thrilling regional derby at the Berekum Golden City Park.

An 85th minute opener from Mohammed Hakeem was followed by an insurance goal from Emmanuel Yeboah on the stroke of 90 minutes to end any fighting chance for the lower tier opposition.

 

Having eliminated Nsoatreman FC from the MTN FA Cup at the round of 64, Jinjini Eagles Soccer Academy pledged to add Young Apostles FC to their list of casualties.

Their pledged almost paid off when they made a near perfect to the game but for some flying saves and forest of legs inside the 18 yard box.

Having survived series of scary moments all game long, Young Apostles FC showed their class with late drama led by composed finish from Hakeem Mohammed.

The red-hot Mohammed Hakeem defied the pressure and tension generated by the game to thump home the opening goal in the game to put Young Apostles FC 0-1 in the regional derby.

With a 0-1 lead and 5 minutes to regulation time, Emmanuel Yeboah returned to the score sheet with a 90th goal to seal the contest for the visitors.

Emmanuel Yeboah registered his seven goal of the season and his second in two FA Cup.
