The ‘Pride of Aiyinase’ will now progress to the round of 32 after escaping an early upset by the second tier side at Gyandu Park in Sekondi Takoradi.

Karela United drew first blood in the second half through Verndy Sando’s strike.

With just about three minutes to end the game, Hasaacas got a penalty and Obed Asamah Ackah did the needful to pull the ‘Dooo’ boys back on level terms.

Eventually, the game finished a goal apiece  ,hence the tie had to be decided on penalties as the rules of the competition demands.

Karela scored four of their spot kicks while Hasaacas missed two of their first four,  which handed Hasmal an early exit.

The round of 64 games will continue on Wednesday and Thursday before the FA announces new date for round 32 draw afterwards.
