Kumasi Asante Kotoko board member Alhaji Abu Lamin, has said the newly appointed CEO Nana Amponsah will advise the board on decision to go to Africa this year.
The board of the club delayed their response to a request by the Ghana FA to play in the CAF Champions league pending the Appointment of a new Chief executive officer.
Asante Kotoko participated in the last two CAF Inter club competitions reaching the ground stage two years ago.
The decision according to board member Alhaji Lamin was reserved for the Chief executive officer to take and believes Nana Yaw Amponsah will make such decision when he resumes work on Monday August 10.
“Nana Yaw will start work on Monday at the club secretariat to assess things and advice the board on Africa”. Alhaji Abu Lamin told Atinka FM
“He has not met with the technical team yet, and he needs to know the kind of players we have if they are quality enough, the club financial status before any decision” He added.
The Ghana Football Association chose Asante Kotoko and Ashantigold to represent Ghana in Africa after it cancelled the 2019/2020 season due to COVID-19 pandemic outbreak.
