Newly acquired Asante Kotoko SC midfielder Emmanuel Sarkodie is relishing the prospect of wearing the famous red jerseys after completing a dream move to the Baba Yara on a three year deal.
The former Nkoranza Warriors skipper starred in zone one of the national division one league to send heads rolling on the local terrain ahead of the second registration window.
With Accra Hearts of Oak SC, Aduana Stars FC and Accra Hearts of Oak SC bent on adding the ball playing enforcer to their ranks, Maxwell Konadu’s side shook off the looming threat to get their transfer target.
Speaking to the club’s official communication machinery after signing the 3-year deal, Emmanuel Sarkodie admitted returning home to continue his football career.
“I was born here in Kumasi and grew up wishing to play for Kotoko. Coming here is like coming home to where it all started for me as a footballer as I was once a member of the Kotoko Youth Team” , Emmanuel Sarkodie told Kotoko Express App
Blessed with vision from deep midfield position, Emmanuel Sarkodie’s feet earned him praises across the zonal championship with some textbook passing accuracy.
He will now have to fight for a place in the star studded Asante Kotoko SC midfield department that has the likes of Mudasiru Salifu, Justice Blay and Collins Ameyaw.
