Nicholas Opoku won’t be available for Ghana’s friendly against Qatar this afternoon.
The defender has been unable to recover on time for the game after picking up an injury in the team’s game against Mali last Friday.
Opoku was handed a start in central defense together with Kasim Nuhu, but the 22-year-old could not last the entire duration of the game eventually being replaced by Celta Vigo defender Joseph Aidoo
The Amiens star is unlikely to play a part in today’s game.
Coach Akonnor could throw in Aidoo who came on for the injured in the last game.
Alexandre Djiku who was also played as a defensive midfielder in the game against Mali also remains an option at centre back as well as Yakubu Mohammed.
Meanwhile Opoku will be hoping to recover quickly before Amiens League match against Grenoble Foot on Saturday.
