“No Local Coach is Ready to Handle the Black Stars”- GFA Executive Council Member

Nana Oduro Sarfo, a member of the Ghana Football Associatio’s Executive Council, has reacted to calls for the Black Stars to be handed over to a local coach following the team’s disappointing campaign in the ongoing Africa Cup of Nations in Cameroon.
According the experienced football administrator, no Ghanaian trainer has what it takes currently to lead the Black Stars.
His comments follows Ghana’s humiliating exit from 2021 Africa Cup of Nations where the four-time champions failed to win a single game in the group stage.
Speaking on Cape Coast based Darling FM on the abysmal performance of the Black Stars in Cameroon under experienced Serbian trainer Milovan Rajevac, Oduro Sarfo explained that the solution is no a local coach.
“We had a Ghanaian coach sometime back and what was the results..?,” the Berekum Chelsea CEO quizzed.
“Sometimes, he asked the management members to help him in players selection.
“I know the GFA President is eager to equip coaches. It is not official yet but he is planning to send some coaches outside for attachment.
“Until then, no local coach is ready to handle the Black Stars,” Oduro Sarfo added.
Ghana were eliminated from the 2021 AFCON after a humuliating 3-2 defeat to debutant Comoros in their final group C game in Garoua on Tuesday night.
The Black Stars left the completion without a single win for the first time in their history.
