NSA boss describes Ghana FA’s Club License committee’s decision to reject Accra, Kumasi stadiums for League matches as a joke

National Sports Authority boss Peter Twumasi has rejected the Ghana FA Club License report that the Accra and Kumasi Sports Stadiums does not meet the criteria to host Ghana Premier League matches.
The Club License Committee rejected the two stadiums to be used by Premier League Clubs for League games in the 2021/22 season on the basis that it does not meet the requirements.
Hearts of Oak, Great Olympics and Accra Lions were expected to use the Accra Sports Stadium as home venue. Legon Cities and Dreams FC also selected the venue as their alternative grounds.
Kotoko and King Faisal on the other hand picked the Babayara Stadium which recently underwent renovation as their home venues.
Professor Twumasi has laughed off the committee’s decision to reject the two venues describing it as a joke.
“Both Kumasi and Accra stadium is certified and match the global standard for clubs to use” Peter Twumasi told Accra based Angel FM
“Is it not a joke to tell me Accra sports stadium doesn’t meet the criteria to play football match on it? Who will believe this story? He added.
“They inspected the facility without our notice, even CAF which is an international body informed us before inspecting it for Hearts games.” He further explained
The Club License Committee only approved the Cape Coast Stadium, Sogakope Park and Obuasi Len Clay Stadium to host the 2021/22 Ghana Premier League matches.
