President Akufo-Addo Calls on Hearts of Oak Fans to Stand Firm Behind Their Club

President of the Republic of Ghana, His Excellency Nana Addo Dankwah Akufo-Addo has called on the supporters Hearts of Oak to stand firm behind their club in their quest to defend the Ghana Premier League and MTN FA Cup titles.
The first gentleman of the land made these calls when a delegation from the Ghana Premier League defending champions on paid a courtesy call to him at the Jubilee House on Tuesday evening.
The visit formed part of activities marking the club’s 110th anniversary celebration which commenced on November 11, 2021.
Hearts of Oak clinched the double last season and Akufo-Addo has urged them to repeat the feat this season despite their unimpressive shaky start to the new campaign.
“As part of your 110 celebration, I urge all Phobians to stand firm and support the team to defend the good image of Ghana football and as well go on to successfully defend all the titles you won last season,” the President said.
“You have a big role to play in lifting high the image of Ghana football.
“I am proud of your achievements as a club and I hope our desire to see you bring more laurels to Ghana football will materialize,” Akufo-Addo added.
The Powerful delegation which was led by Hon. Vincent Sowah Odotei included madam Ivy Mills, Alhaji Imoro Briamah all representing the board, Coach Samuel Boadu, Physical trainer/Welfare officer W.O-1 Paul Tandoh, Mr. Emmanuel Quashie, Kwame Opare Addo, Fatawu Mohammed, Raddy Ovouka and Ben Mensah.
The President also praised Coach Boadu and his Technical team as well as the players for working hard to bring success to the club and urged them to get better and better in their quest to defend the title and conquer Africa.
“Samuel Boadu is currently one of the very best coaches and together with his captain and the rest of the players I want to encourage you to do more for Hearts and Ghana.
“I therefore pledge GH₵1million to support your campaign in the CAF Competitions which I believe will serve as extra motivation to the team to win on Sunday and go on to qualify to the group stages” he concluded.
