WAFA will be looking to make it two wins in a row in the ongoing league when they continue their 2020-21 Premier League campaign at home to Legon Cities on Saturday afternoon.
The Academy Boys have been impressive at home, moving up into eighth position with thirty-five points in the Premier League table, while Legon Cities have won two of their last three in Ghana’s top flight to ease any relegation fears.
In midweek, WAFA beat Medeama SC 2-1 on matchweek 24 to move into the top ten on the league log.
With a win in this game, WAFA would go above struggling Karela United, Dreams FC and Aduana Stars, and into the top five of the Premier League.
Legon Cities, meanwhile, have won six, drawn eight and lost 9 of their 24 Premier League matches this season to sit 15th in the table, 6 points clear of the relegation zone.
The Royals have picked up six points from the last available nine, though, overcoming Liberty Professionals and Ebusua Dwarfs to a defeat. Bashiru Hayford’s team are not safe as there is still a lot of football to be played, but the gap to the relegation zone is healthy taking everything into consideration.
Legon Cities will be the underdogs heading into Saturday’s clash, but they have won two of their last six Premier League games against Dwarfs, who were far from convincing against Kotoko on Thursday.
The game is scheduled for 3pm kick off at the Sogakope Red-Bull Arena and will be broadcasted live on StarTimes Adepa channel 247.
