Former Ghana Premier League top scorer Prince Tagoe has named legendary Black Stars player Abedi Pele as his greatest Ghanaian footballer.
Pele remains an idol in Ghana due to his immense contribution for the National team.
The three-time African Footballer of the year won the Cup of Nations title with the Black Stars 38 years ago as a teenager and went on to captain the team to the finals in the 1992 edition where Ghana painfully lost to Cote d’ Ivoire.
Tagoe has lauded the former Olympique Marseille star for the impact he made in the National team.
“My all-time best player in Ghana is Abedi Pele because we all grew up to see the strides he made back then, followed by Stephen Appiah,” Tagoe was speaking with Joy FM.
“Pele we saw videos of him and saw the role he played in the Black Stars as a captain.
“He had everything and he was a great leader as well. I respect him a lot and for me I think he will be my greatest Ghanaian footballer then Appiah also comes in.”
The former Hearts of Oak forward represented Ghana at the 2006 and 2012 Africa Cup of Nations tournament. He also played at the 2010 FIFA World Cup in South Africa.
