Projection – The Ghana Premier League Magic 40, Elmina Sharks, Eleven Wonders to Join Inter Allies to Division One.

The Ghana Premier League is heading to its winding curve once again and the jostling and fighting for positions of safety has keenly begun again, this time around, with 3 matches to end the season, more than 7 clubs are battling to avoid the drop with only one club, International Allies having confirmed their status as a division one club.  The Current league table has teams from the 11th position to the 17th placed all gasping for survival.

Techiman Eleven Wonders - Projection - The Ghana Premier League Magic 40, Elmina Sharks, Eleven Wonders to Join Inter Allies to Division One.

With this table in mind it is important to analyze the effect on the clubs, their chances of survival, vis a vis their performance.

  1. Bechem United – 38
  2. Ebusua Dwarfs – 37
  3. Berekum Chelsea – 37
  4. Eleven Wonders- 36
  5. King Faisal  – 36
  6. Liberty Professionals – 35
  7. Elmina Sharks – 35
  8. International Allies – 26

With this point build up it will be worth considering the historical performance of the teams involved, against their current form.

KING FAISAL – Having won only 2 of their last 15 away matches, and drawing 3, it unlikely the Insha Allah Boys can win any of their last 2 way matches, the Kumasi based side has managed 1 draw in 5 away outings, and or projections have them drawing one of their last 2 away games, whilst winning their last home game.We are unsure which of the 2 away matches they will draw, but we have strong beliefs they will put a showdown in Obuasi when the face Asante Kotoko, we believe the porcupine warriors have already given up on the league title chase, and will not put up a fight against Faisal in Obuasi.

If this projection goes through, King Faisal will end the season with 40 points, having already accumulated  36 points from 31 matches.

TECHIMAN ELEVEN WONDERS – The 99 wonders side have a daunting task of surviving the league, with 36 points, 2 away matches all in Accra, Eleven Wonders Will need to defy football odds against them and produce their own wonders by getting at least a point from their Accra trips.

With only 1 away win, which technically was a home games as they defeated King Faisal at the Nana Ameyaw park in Techiman, Wonders will need to go past the 5 away drawn matches for any chances of survival, they have two matches in Accra Accra Great Olympics and Legon Cities, two teams who both game bad accounts of how fans in Techiman treated them in the reverse fixture.

Our projection is that Wonder will win their home game against Medeama SC but wil struggle in the two away matches, it is our belief that Wonders will not make the magic 40, ending the season with 39 points.

ELMINA SHARKS – Sharks, a team whose fortunes have been hardly hit by the Decision of the Ghana FA and the club’s financier Dr Paa Kwesi Nduom’s ‘predicament’.

Sharks have the most daunting task of all 7 teams languishing at the bottom of the league log, with 35 points, Elmina Sharks will need two wins for any possible survival. The Elmina based side have 2 tough away matches against title chasing Asante Kotoko, and Medeama SC, anything short of 2 wins in the last 3 matches will see Sharks kiss goodbye to top tier football after 4 years. If they fail to win any of their away games, and beat Legon Cities in Elmina, they will end up with 38 points, 2 short of the required magic 40.

EBUSUA DWARFS – The abontoa Bontoa boys will forever regret the fans’ attack on match officials that led to a Ghana FA points deduction, the Cape Coast based club are 37 points from 31 matches, but have some relatively good games coming up in the last 3. Dwarfs have a home game against Accra Hearts of Oak, a match that has highly been tipped to go the way of the phobians, if this projection goes as suggested, then it means they will only win one of the 3 remaining matches because their away game to King Faisal will not come cheap, we project that Ebusua Dwarf will win 1 of their last 3 games to end the season with 40 points.

LIBERTY PROFESSIONALS – The scientific soccer lads will be signing praises if they survive this season, it will be the 3rd season the Dansoman based club will be struggling for survival with 3 matches to end.

Liberty will enjoy 2 home games against sides that do not perform well on the road. If they have anything to ginger their survival hopes, they must do so against Karela United at the REDBULL Arena in Sogakope, unfortunately, their last game at this same venue was disastrous with Ashantigold mauling them by 5 goals to 1, they have to quickly shake that off, and bounce back to winning ways, and that must come against Karela United. Liberty’s only away game will be against Hearts of Oak at the Accra Sports Stadium, no member of the Liberty family will dream of getting a point here, because they will play the last game against King Faisal. If they manage to beat Karela United, they will be battling for their survival with the last game of the season against King Faisal. Liberty Professionals will end up with 41 points if they are to win both of their home matches.

Liberty Professionals - Projection - The Ghana Premier League Magic 40, Elmina Sharks, Eleven Wonders to Join Inter Allies to Division One.

BEREKUIM CHELSEA – is the worse away performing side in the league, the Berekum based club has only 2 points from their travels, but with 37 points, they should be fine with the one home game left, Chelsea can avoid the drop if they beat Great Olympics at home and lose both of the remaining away matches against Dreams FC and Medeama SC, Chelsea should just  be fine with 40 points.

BECHEM UNITED – 11th placed Bechem United are the most unlucky of the falling pack, the hunters despite their 38 points, have some tricky duels coming up, with two away matches against relatively struggling clubs, Bechem Must maintain their strength at home for any chances of surviving. Bechem United take on Asante Kotoko at the Nana Fosu Gyarbour park in week 33, a crunchy game that could end the title hopes of Asante Kotoko or throw the entire Bechem township into a state of mourning. The Hunters have 2 difficult away matches against Legon Cities and struggling Ebusua Dwarfs. If Bechem United manage a win against Asante Kotoko they will pick 41 points to avoid the drop from the Ghana Premier League.

If our projections go through as discussed the final league Table would look this below with

  2. Liberty Professionals – 41 points
  3. King Faisal – 40 points
  4. Berekum Chelsea  – 40
  5. Ebusua Dwarfs – 40 points
