The flying full back impressed the technical handlers of Kumasi Asante Kotoko when the two teams met in last season’s MTN FA Cup and has been tipped to provide competition for ageing duo of Augustine Sefa and Amos Frimpong in the defensive set up.
The Bekwai-based defender who is also able to play very well as a left back will provide the Porcupine Warriors several options at their lateral defensive positions.
A reported GHC30,000 is tabled by Kumasi Asante Kotoko as the two teams continue to sort out the contractual details of the deal.
Frimppong who had been under the lenses of the Porcupine Warriors after a wonderful display in the FA Cup clash between the two sides last season has been under their lenses for the entire season.
After emerging the player of the match in the FA Cup clash last season, the youngster went on to become one of the brightest spots for the academy side in the Division One League, winning 7 man of the match awards in 14 games in the league.
The 20-year old has already been under the watchful lenses of Black Stars second deputy coach Maxwell Konadu with Didi Dramani also sending scouts to watch him on some few occasions last season.
Kumasi Asante Kotoko parted ways with a number of their underperforming stars including left back Eric Donkor and Frank Sarfo Gyamfi.
Head coach, Paa Kwesi Faabin, is expected to give Asante Kotoko a new look with youth players expected to be given the chance in the coming weeks.
