GERMANY

Kassim Nuhu played in central defense for Hoffenheim and helped them defeat FC Köln 3-2 in the Bundesliga.

Ghana U23 winger Issah Abass was introduced in the second half and played a part in Mainz 05 3-1 defeat to RB Leipzig.

Patrick Twumasi’s Hannover 96 League debut was delayed as he watched his side beat Karlsruher SC 2-0 at home in the Bundesliga II.

Nana Opoku Ampomah and Kelvin Ofori tasted defeat with Fortuna Dusseldorf in the opening day of the German Bundesliga II. The pair came on in the second half to feature for their side as they lost 2-1 away to Hamburger SV who had Ghanaian-born Gideon Jung on the bench.

Still in the Bundesliga II, Christopher Antwi-Adjei was in action and played 87minutes when Paderborn lost 1-0 to Holstein Kiel. 2015 Ghana U20 star David Atanga was on the Holstein Kiel bench.

Hans Nunoo Sarpei also played 90 minutes for Greuther Fürth who dropped points at home after drawing 1-1 with Osnabrück.

Youngster Joe Williams played the full 90minutes for Hertha BSC U19 as they thumped Eimsbütteler TV U19 5-1 in the U19 Bundesliga.

Michael Akoto was in action for Mainz 05 II and played the full 90 minutes as they lost 6-2 at home to Freiburg II in the Regionalliga.

Davidson Eden and his Teutonia Ottensen side went away to draw 2-2 with Hamburger SV II.

Evans Nyarko scored for Eintracht Norderstedt who grabbed maximum points away from home with a resounding 3-0 win over Phönix Lübeck. The Ghanaian played 86minutes for his side.

Mordecai Boahene Zuhs could only watch Borussia M’bach 19 from the bench as they won 1-0 at Bayern Leverkusen 19.

 

FRANCE

John Boye displayed a masterclass performance in defense during Metz 2-1 win over Reims in the Ligue I.

At the Stade de la Meinau, Abdul Majeed Waris played 65minutes for Strasbourg who managed to pip Dijon 1-0.

Amien fielded both Emmanuel Lomotey and Nicholas Opoku in their 0-0 draw with Châteauroux. Opoku saw full action whiles Lomotey played 77minutes in the game.

Former Ghana U20 defender Emmanuel Ntim could not help his Valenciennes side avoid 1-0 defeat to Dunkerque.

Godwin Bentil was unused in Le Havre’s 1-0 loss at home to Niort.

Ebenezer Assifuah could not find the back of the net for Pau despite playing the full 90minutes in their in their 1-0 defeat to Guingamp.

Charles Boateng played 90minutes and helped Avranches beat Stade Briochin 2-1 in the National I.

 

NETHERLANDS

Mohammed Kudus picked up the man of the match award on his debut for Ajax when they walloped RKC Waalwijk 3-0.

In the Eerste Divisie, Ghana U23 right-back Robin Polley saw full action and got booked in Dordrecht’s 4-0 hammering at Roda JC.

ARMENIA

At the Urartu Stadium in Yerevan, Annan Mensah started the game and played 65minutes for Urartu who managed to beat Pyunik 2-1 in the League Cup.

Still in the League Cup, Kwame Antwi played 90minutes for Lori in their 0-0 stalemate with BKMA.

 

AUSTRIA

Majeed Ashimeru was a second half substitute for RB Salzburg when they thrashed Rheindorf Altach 4-0 in the Bundesliga.

Kelvin Yeboah assisted Swarovski Tirol’s only goal during their 1-1 draw with LASK.

Seth Paintsil made a second half appearance for Austria Wien when they recorded a 2-1 win over Ried.

In the Regionalliga, Ferdinand Takyi and his Bischofshofen side settled for a 1-1 draw at home with TSV St. Johann.

Paul Mensah and his Kapfenberger SV side went away to pick points by beating                Vorwärts Steyr 3-0 with the Ghanaian getting on the scoresheet.

 

AZERBAIJAN

Kwabena Owusu played 90minutes and scored the consolation goal in Qarabag’s shocking 2-1 defeat to Neftçi.

 

BELGIUM

Kamal Sowah played full throttle despite OH Leuven’s 3-1 defeat at the hands of KV Oostende.

Ghana U23 star Osman Bukari marked his Gent debut with a victory over Excel Mouscron. The Ghanaian came on to play the final 12minutes in the game.

Daniel Opare did not get any minutes in Zulte-Waregem’s 6-0 humiliation at home to Club Brugge.

Enoch Ocansey also featured 78minutes in Kortrijk’s 2-1 loss at Standard Liège.

Isaac Nuhu was not used by AS Eupen during their 0-0 stalemate with Antwerp.

Eugene Ansah came on to play the final 11minutes for Club Brugge II who lost 2-1 to Lierse K.

BULGARIA

Ex-Ghana U17 striker Nasiru Mohammed was on target for Levski Sofia who posted a 3-0 win over CSKA 1948 Sofia.

 

BELARUS

Former Ghana U20 pair Francis Narh and Dennis Tetteh both played and helped               Slavia record a narrow 1-0 win over second placed Shakhtyor.

 

ESTONIA

Former Kotoko centre-back Michael Ofosu Appiah was on the losing side as his team Trans lost 1-0 to Tulevik at the Kreenholmi Staadion.

 

FAROE ISLANDS

Samudeen Musah played 90minutes for TB in their goalless draw with Ki in the Meistaradeildin.

 

CHINA

Mubarak Wakaso featured the entire game as Jiangsu Suning recorded a 2-0 victory over Shenzhen in the Chinese FA Cup.

In other games Emmanuel Boateng also came from the bench to play in Dalian Pro’s drubbing at Shandong Luneng.

CROATIA

Ex-WAFA winger Prince Drobo-Ampem scored twice in Šibenik’s dramatic 3-2 win over Lokomotiva Zagreb. Countryman Reuben Acquah was on the Lokomotiva Zagreb bench.

 

EGYPT

John Antwi continued his consistent form in the Egyptian top-flight by netting in Haras El Hodood’s 3-2 triumph over ENPPI at the Haras El Hodood stadium in Alexandria.

Solomon Mensah was part of the Aswan team that stunned Zamalek 1-0 at home with the Ghanaian playing 67minutes.

 

FINLAND

Jude Arthur and Anthony Annan were in the Inter Turku team that lost 1-0 to SJK. Annan was unused by Inter Turku.

Edmund Arko-Mensah did not play in Honka’s 0-0 draw with HJK Helsinki.

Bismark Adjei-Boateng scored to help KuPS beat RoPS 2-0 away from home.

 

GEORGIA

Samuel Inkoom was on the losing side when his team Samtredia suffered a painful 3-2 defeat to  Tbilisi City.

 

KAZAKHSTANI

Former Kotoko defender Gideon Baah played 90 minutes for Shakhter Karangandy when they went away to hold Champions Astana to a 1-1 draw.

 

LATVIA

Youngster Kwadwo Asamoah, formerly of Bechem United was unused in Spartaks Jūrmala’s 1-1 draw with Metta / LU in the Virsliga.

Seidu Yahaya played 90 minutes and helped Liepāja thrash BFC Daugavpils 4-0.

 

NORWAY

2017 WAFU Cup of Nations winning captain Isaac Twum did not get any minutes in IK Start’s 2-1 loss to Kristiansund in the Eliteserien.

 

KOREA REPUBLIC

Boadi Acosty played just 42minutes for Anyang when they lost 2-1 to Jeonnam Dragons.

 

MOLDOVA

Former Ghana 23 and Black Stars B striker Richard Gadze scored the match-winner in Sheriff’s 2-1 victory over Speranţa Nisporeni.

 

MALTA

Gabriel Mensah played 86minutes in Gudja United’s 2-2 draw with Mosta as they maintained their top spot on the table.

 

POLAND

Ghana U23 captain Yaw Yeboah played and got substituted by Wisła Kraków when they suffered 3-0 at the hands of Wisła Płock in the Ekstraklasa.

Ishmael Baidoo played 67minutes for Pogoń Siedlce when they recorded a 2-1 win over Hutnik Kraków.

 

PORTUGAL

George Nana Kwame Ofosu played 76minutes in Varzim’s goalles stalemate with Chaves in the Segunda Liga.

Former WAFA defender Abdul Wahab Ibrahim came on to play for Famalicão when they were thumped 5-1 at home by Benfica in the Primeira Liga. Teammate and countryman Lawrence Ofori was on the Famalicão bench.

Still in the Primeira Liga Abdul Mumin played 90minutes for Vitoria Guimaraes but could do little to help them avoid a 1-0 defeat at home to Belenenses.

Abdul Aziz Yakubu played full throttle for Estoril as they lost 1-0 to Académica.

At the Estádio Pina Manique, Abdul Malik Abubakar saw 67minutes of action for Casa Pia as they got bartered 6-0 by Benfica II.

Yaw Moses could only watch his Arouca side draw goalless with Leixões.

Kelvin Boateng and Richard Ofori both featured for Porto II and Vizela respectively in a game which ended 4-1 in favor of Porto II. Ghanaian midfielder Francis Cann was on the Vizela bench.

 

SERBIA

Ex-Hearts of Oak captain Joseph Owusu Bempah played full throttle and received a yellow card in Borac Čačak’s 2-1 victory over Radnički Sr. Mitrovica. Ghanaian teammate Rashid Abdul Obuobi was on the bench for Borac Čačak.

Zakaria Suraka came from the substitute bench to play the final 17minutes for Železničar Pančevo in their 2-1 victory over Kolubara.

 

SLOVAKIA

Ernest Boateng was introduced into the game by Šamorín in the 76th minute and played the remaining time as they narrowly fell away to Slavoj Trebišov.

Benson Anang did not play in Žilina’s 2-2 draw with Slovan Bratislava at the Štadión Pod Dubňom.

Edmond Addo was a full-timer for Senica who lost 4-2 at home to DAC.

 

SOUTH AFRICA

Mumuni Abubakar played the entire duration of Black Leopards 2-0 away win at               Ajax Cape Town in the playoffs.

 

TURKEY

In the Turkish Super Lig, Afriyie Acquah played full throttle for Yeni Malatyaspor who were held 1-1 at home by Göztepe.

Bernard Mensah saw full 90 minutes as Besiktas shared spoils at home after drawing 1-1 with Antalyaspor.

Yaw Ackah, formerly of Bechem United made his debut for Kayserispor who lost 2-0 to Alanyaspor with the Ghanaian playing 76minutes in the game. Joseph Attamah Laweh played 90 minutes for Kayserispor.

Isaac Cofie came on to play a part for Sivasspor in their 2-1 away win over BB Erzurumspor.

Aziz Tetteh was not used by Gaziantep FK during the 2-2 draw with Fatih Karagümrük.

Elsewhere in the Lig I, Adanaspor went away to pick a point after drawing goalless with Eskişehirspor. Ghana’s Isaac Donkor played 90 minutes for Adanaspor.

Mahatma Otoo got booked in Balıkesirspor’s 1-0 loss to Tuzlaspor.

Kamal Issah was on scored one of İstanbulspor’s two goals against Altay.

 

UKRAINE

Ghana’s 2017 FIFA U17 World Cup star Najeeb Yakubu played at his usual right-back position for Vorskla but could not help out in their 2-0 defeat to Oleksandria.

Ernest Nyarko played for Rukh Vynnyky but could not help them beat Kolos Kovalivka as they lost 2-1 at home.

 

USA

Latif Blessing’s effort for Los Angeles was not enough to help them avoid a 3-0 defeat to    Seattle Sounders in the MLS.

Former Dreams FC skipper Leonard Owusu and his Vancouver Whitecaps side went away to beat Real Salt Lake with the Ghanaian coming on in the 69th minute.

Samuel Tetteh ‘s MLS debut ended in defeat as his team New York Red Bull lost 1-0 to Cincinnati.

DC United handed Mohammed Abu a start in their 2-2 draw with Toronto.

Duo Jonathan Mensah and Harrison Afful both played the full game for Columbus Crew in their 2-0 triumph over Nashville SC. David Accam was not in the Nashville SC team.

Lalas Abubakar was a pillar at the back for Colorado Rapids and helped them pick valuable points at LA Galaxy with a 2-0 win.

Rashid Tetteh played in New Mexico United’s 2-1 loss to Colorado Springs.

Ropapa Mensah was in fine form but could not find the back of the net when his Pittsburgh Riverhounds side went away to beat Loudoun United 1-0 at the Segra Field.

Joshua Yaro played full 90minutes for San Antonio in their 2-0 with over OKC Energy at the Toyota Field.

Solomon Asante captained Phoenix Rising but could not help them as they lost 3-2 at the Casino Arizona Field to San Diego Loyal. Francis Atuahene was on the San Diego Loyal bench.

In the USL League one, goalkeeper Rashid Nuhu could not keep a clean sheet after conceding two goals in Union Omaha’s 2-0 loss to New England II at the Werner Park. Ilal Osumanu was unused by Union Omaha.

In the NWSL Fall Series, Ghana female International Jennifer Cudjoe and her team Sky Blue lost heavily after tasting a 4-1 defeat at the hands of Chicago Red Stars at the SeatGeek Stadium.

 

ENGLAND

Jordan Ayew and Jeffrey Schlupp were both handed starting roles in Crystal Palace’s shocking 3-1 victory over Manchester United at Old Trafford with Ayew missing a penalty kick. The two players all made way in the second half.

Black Stars captain Andre Ayew was influential for Swansea City despite failing to pick valuable points at home after drawing goalless with Birmingham City in the Championship.

Christian Atsu and Daniel Amartey were all missing from Newcastle United and Leicester City team in the respective games.

 

SPAIN

Joseph Aidoo was a beast in defense for Celta Vigo when they posted a 2-1 win over Valencia at the Abanca-Balaídos. Ghanaian-born Yunus Musah played 84minutes for Valencia.

Samuel Obeng enjoyed the entire duration of Real Oviedo’s 1-1 draw with Mirandés in the Segunda Division. The Ghana U23 striker was booked in the game.

Richard Boateng also saw 84minutes as Alcorcón scored two goals past Tenerife at the Estadio Santo Domingo.

Idrissu Baba saw full time for Mallorca in their 0-0 draw at home with Espanyol. The Ghana midfielder however went into the referee’s books.

Tahiru Awudu also played 90 minutes for Fuenlabrada who lost 1-0 away to Las Palmas.

 

SWEDEN

Enoch Adu Kofi played the entire duration for AIK when they hammered Hammarby 3-0 at home. Ebenezer Ofori was not in the AIK match-day squad.

Samuel Mensah played and made way in the 68th minute as his team Östersunds FK drew 1-1 with Djurgården.

Former Kotoko attacker Abdul Fatawu Safiu played a part in Trelleborg’s 1-1 draw with Örgryte in the Superettan.

Ex-Inter Allies and Ghana U20 left-back Patrick Kpozo played 90 minutes as his IFK Luleå side were whitewashed 5-1 by Brommapojkarna.

Enoch Adu, formerly of Inter Allies also enjoyed the entire game for Nyköping who drew 1-1 with Karlslund.

Lovette Felicia came off the bench to score a brace in IF Karlstad’s 4-3 victory over Berga at the Tingvalla IP.

Thomas Boakye and Karim Sadat both enjoy minutes in Halmstad’s 1-1 draw with Akropolis at the Grimsta IP Stadium.

Former Inter Allieis midfielder Sabah Lawson could not help Linköping City escape a 3-0 loss to Torns.

Isaac Shaze helped Trollhättan beat Motala 3-1 away from home.

 

SWITZERLAND

Goalkeeper Lawrence Ati-Zigi kept a clean sheet for St Gallen in their 1-0 win over Sion. Defender Musah Nuhu was not in the Sion team.

 

RUSSIA

Joel Fameye featured the entire game as his side Orenburg drew blank with Akron.

Mohammed Kadiri, formerly of Ashanti Gold marked his Arsenal Tula return with a 3-2 victory over Sochi.

 

ITALY

Alfred Duncan got off to a winning start with Fiorentina in the Serie A as they defeated Torino 1-0 at home. Kevin-Prince Boateng was not in the Fiorentina team.

 

CYPRUS

Ernest Asante was handed a starting berth and lasted 58minutes in Omonia Nicosia’s 2-1 triumph over AEK Larnaca,.

 

DENMARK

Isaac Atanga was on the score sheet for Nordsjælland who drew 1-1 with OB in the Superliga. Kamal Deen Sulemana played 90 minutes for Nordsjælland with Francis Abu warming the bench. Clinton Antwi and Ibrahim Sadiq were all missing from the Nordsjælland match-day squad.

Fit again Raphael Dwamena seems to be enjoying his time at Vejle after setting up an assist in their 4-1 win over SønderjyskE.

Ghana Youth International Emmanuel Toku was on target again for Fremad Amager as they recorded an impressive 4-0 win over Hvidovre.
